Lace and leather is such a staple combo for me. Always has been, always will. I can’t help but mix feminine with edgy. It’s simply what comes natural to me while getting dressed. This isn’t just any old lace and leather combo though, you guys. After years of lusting, I finally caved and purchased my first ACNE leather jacket. I feel like after I said that, the clouds open up from the sky and a ray of light from the heavens shined down on me, only me, and my jacket. I’m not even being dramatic here, they really are all that they are built up to be. I’ll always stand by what I’ve always preached: leather jackets, boots, sunglasses, and purses are the key items worth investing in. Since they are items you can mix in to any, or all, your outfits and used on the reg, they are the ones worth investing in.

Some would argue, one piece of clothing vs. someones one month NYC rent.. and I totally get it. I’m a super thrifty person. I don’t splurge on anything really, and if I do, I always hunt for it on a super sale. But there has been small goals I’ve set since I was younger.. you know, as a “fashion girl”, I’ve always had my heart set on owning certain things I couldn’t afford, or wasn’t necessary for a middle class girl in a small suburban town to own. Treating myself to these luxury items, one at a time, is really a reminder to myself of how far I’ve come and more of a pat on the back (In this case, a soft brown leathery, pat on the back).
