For the past month while working on getting the shop ready to open, I’ve missed my vintage buying trips more than anything. At this time, I’m so packed with inventory that my main focus was making sure everything else is done before diving back into treasure hunting for American Gypsy Vintage. It’s actually crazy that I’ve gone this long without my weekly shopping trips. This weekend I did manage to make an excuse to do a little treasure hunting upstate in New Paltz. Granted, I was only allowing myself to buy decore for the apartment and boutique, it was still refreshing. I’ve been on the hunt for a few more vintage full length mirrors, coffee tables, and wooden chests. I bought this beautiful dark wooden chest about two years ago at a garage sale that is perfect for a makeshift coffee table while storing clothes. And god knows I need the extra clothing storage! Unfortunately, mine is still stuck at my old apartment in Brooklyn being used by my sister. So, in the meantime, I’m hunting down one or two till I can get that one back. Since I didn’t find one I loved, looks like I get to use another excuse for a day away from the boutique and on a shopping trip!
The winter is such a bummer when it comes to showing off an outfits details. This is a favorite vintage dress of mine that has a really lovely military cut that I couldn’t wait to share, but of course, mother nature calls for layering. Oh well, I know in the summer I’m going to miss wearing leather jackets more than anything so I won’t complain!

I’ve been MIA this past week from the blog (which is VERY rare) due to a crazy amount of work that needed to get done. I needed to have my head in the game 100% to try to make a mid Feb. opening date realistic. I’m thankful to say, hard work pays off and It’s looking very promising! Now that things are in order, I won’t loose track of blogging for another week!
